Hello, I’m Karen Klussendorf. Welcome to my little corner of the Web. I’ve spent a lifetime pursuing and advocating holistic health and fitness, and it’s my genuine pleasure to share my practice and experiences with my students and clients. I offer yoga and Pilates classes, personal and group fitness training, seasonal yoga retreats, personalized private retreats and meditation sessions in Woodland and Davis, California.
I hold a B.S. in Community Health Education from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, and am certified as a personal fitness trainer and group exercise instructor through AFAA. I am a 200 RYT Yoga Instructor certified through YogaFit and a trained Integrated Movement (Educational Kinesiology) specialist. I bring nearly twenty years of experience in the mental health field and eighteen years of health and fitness education to the mat. I am committed to teaching students of all ages and levels, supporting them wholeheartedly as they develop a more balanced, joyful and active life.
My classes aren’t just physical workouts, though they certainly provide that. I focus on creating a place of respite, retreat, sanctuary; a safe haven where students can explore their practice and come back to their center in a compassionate, caring environment. Music, active listening, breathing practices and moments of engaged stillness provide the framework for a dynamic and integrated session of body movements that are tailored for each specific class.
